24 undergraduate majors offered by SCUT have been approved by the Ministry of Education as top programs at national level, according to an official announcement issued by the ministry this Monday.
These designated programs include:

Materials science and engineering
Polymer material and engineering
Electrical engineering and automation
Optoelectronic information science and engineering
Information engineering
Automation
Computer science and technology
Software engineering
Civil engineering
Chemical engineering and techniques
Light chemical engineering
Food science and engineering
Architecture
Urban-rural planning
Landscape architecture
Bioengineering
Business management
Administration management
Tourism management
From April 2019, the MOE started to implement the "double ten thousand plan" for undergraduate education in China, which aims to build 10,000 top programs at national scale and 10,000 at provincial scale in a three-year period until 2021.
Up to the end of the year, about half of these programs have been confirmed at universities and colleges designated by the MOE. Besides the above 24 majors, SCUT also has 15 majors named at provincial level in the project.
