Research Strength and Key Lab

Over years of development, SCUT's academic strength has been evidenced by the following, four state key disciplines: Telecommunication and Electronic System, Chemical Engineering, Sugar-Refining Engineering, Paper-Making Engineering; eight "211 Project" key disciplines: Paper-Making and Environment Engineering, Food Science and Bio-chemistry Engineering, Polymer Material and Modeling Technology/Equipment, Electronic Information and Network Technology, Automobile-Making Engineering, Controlling Theory and Transportation Engineering, Sub-Tropical Architectural Design Theory and Engineering; an array of research institutes and innovation centers: one National key Lab (Pulp & Paper-making ), two State Level Engineering R & D Centers, one Open Laboratory (sponsored by the Ministry of Education ), one National A-level Architectural Design Institute, twelve Provincial Level Engineering R & D Centers, twenty-six Research Institutes.
