报告摘要:

Tri-generation is one of the promising technologies to alleviate the significant increase in demand for primary energy resources. A tri-generation system provides decentralized electricity, heating and cooling powered by solar energy, which is achieved by integration of steam engine with membrane based desiccant cooling/heating technology. Conventional vapour compression (VC) system is powered by electrical energy. A VC cooling system adopts condensation dehumidification method to handle both sensible and latent heat loads, therefore the system has to operate under lower evaporation temperature, which results in lower cooling capacity, lower coefficient of performance (COP) and sometimes a reheating process is required for a constant temperature and humidity control to meet supply air requirement. Temperature and humidity independent control technology could solve this problem.

 

报告人简介:

Dr Zhu is expert in sustainable energy technology at the Faculty of Engineering, the University of Nottingham. He has a high level of expertise in applied thermodynamics, dehumidification, refrigeration, heat pumps, and sustainable/renewable energy technologies.  He has participated more than ten research projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Royal Society, Carbon Trust, EU Seventh Framework Programme and industry, and has been granted two patents. Dr Zhu’s research has had the primary aim of reducing CO2 emissions in the building sector. He is currently carrying out teaching and research work associated with building services, renewable and sustainable technologies and energy efficiency technology, and supervises five PhD research students. He has published over 60 journal and conference papers.
