报告简介一:

A connected vehicle is a motor vehicle that is equipped with Internet access, and usually also with a wireless local area network. This allows the car to share internet access with other devices both inside as well as outside the vehicle. Often, the car is also outfitted with special technologies that tap into the internet or wireless LAN and provide additional benefits to the driver.

Connected vehicles on the go are proactive, cooperative, well-informed, and coordinated, and will pave the way for supporting various applications for road safety (e.g., collision detection, lane change warning, and cooperative merging), smart and green transportation (e.g., traffic signal control, intelligent traffic scheduling, and fleet management), location-dependent services (e.g., point of interest and route optimization), and in-vehicle Internet access.

Further, all connected vehicles are considered as the building blocks of the emerging Internet of Vehicles (IoV), a dynamic mobile communication system that features gathering, sharing, processing, computing, and secure release of information and enables the evolution to next generation intelligent transportation systems.

 

报告人简介:

沈学民教授于1992年加入加拿大滑铁卢大学电气与计算机工程系。目前为该系终身教授,同时负责研究生管理工作,IEEE Fellow, 加拿大工程院(Canadian Academy of Engineering)院士,加拿大工程研究院(Engineering Institute of Canada Fellow)院士。他在车辆通信网络领域内拥有深厚的学术研究背景,享有很高的声誉,近期受聘为电子科技大学特聘杰出讲座教授。他在2003年获加拿大安大略省最优科研奖,2004年获得滑铁卢大学科研杰出贡献奖,2006年获滑铁卢大学优秀研究生指导奖。他的研究方向包括无线网络资源管理、UWB无线通信系统、无线网络安全、自组织网络以及传感网络等,在无线网络领域发表了大量论文,著述颇丰。

沈学民教授是六本书的合著作者,已发表600多篇论文,曾在IEEEACM多个国际会议的技术委员会担任主席或联合主席。沈学民教授也是无线通信领域许多国际一流刊物的编委(例如,IEEE Network, Peer-to-Peer Networking and Application, and IET Communications; IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications; IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, Computer Networks, and ACM/Wireless Networks, IEEE JSAC, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Communications Magazine, and ACM Mobile Networks and Applications)。

 

报告简介二:

The surge in technology developments and the demand for more efficient devices in the past decades has enabled a new form of network paradigm, the Internet of Things (IoT) that allows connected objects or things to remotely sense or be sensed, control or be controlled, and transmit information over the network. IoT applications can be productive in many ways including saving time and money by providing a more efficient automation of mundane tasks, and improving the quality of life through information gathering, analysis, and feedback. As it integrates our physical world and computer/information systems, IoT is the foundation of the future Information and Communications Technology ecosystem, the networked society. Therefore, due to its immense potential, IoT has attracted a great deal of attention from the industry, the academia, and the government alike. In this talk, first, a brief introduction to the history and background, as well as the current trend of IoT, will be presented. Second, the technologies that lay out the foundation of IoT will be introduced. Finally, future research problems and directions will be identified and discussed.

 

报告人简介:

Nei Kato教授是国际著名无线通信与网络通信专家,他于1988年和1991年在东北大学分别获得硕士和博士学位,现担任日本东北大学电子通信研究组主任,浙江大学求是讲座教授,西安电子科技大学111基地学术骨干等职务。

他的研究领域包括计算机网络、无线移动通信、卫星通信、自组织网络、传感器网络、mesh网络、智能电网、模式识别等领域,已经发表论文300多篇。他目前担任IEEE COMSOC BoG (Member-at-Large)IEEE Network杂志的主编,IEEE IoT JournalIEEE TPDS汇刊的副主编,IEEE TVT汇刊的Area EditorIEEE TCIEEE T Broadcast等多个汇刊的编辑。由于在上述研究领域中的杰出贡献,Kato教授荣获IEEEIEICEKDDIIEEE GLOBECOM/WCNC/VTC等多项奖项,并被评为IEEE ComSoc杰出讲师,2012年被评为IEICE Fellow2013年被评为IEEE Fellow
