On November 11, 2016, Guangdong provincial Development and Reform Commission forwarded the reply of National Development and Reform Office (No. 2218 of the Department of High-Tech Industry of the National Development and Reform Commission)about the establishment of National Engineering Laboratory for VOCs Pollution Control Technology and Equipment, and approved its construction formally.

Considering the current situation of weak independent innovation ability, insufficient infrastructure and facilities, low equipment reliability and unreasonable industrial structure, South China University of Technology, as the leader who cooperates with many units using Industry-Academia-Research-Implementation method, is constructing National Engineering Laboratory for VOCs Pollution Control Technology and Equipment to meet the needs of the development in combined air pollution control and environmental conservation industry upgrade. Daiqi Ye, Dean of School of Environment and Energy of South China University of Technology, is the laboratorydirector. It is the first National Engineering Laboratory that is leaded by South China University of Technology, and the only one leaded by a university in Guangdong province for the construction.
The technology equipment of adsorption,condensate and recovery
The laboratory aims to improve the independent innovation ability and the core competence of environmental control industry, focusing on the weakness of existing VOCs control technologies and low operating reliability of the critical materials and equipment. Relying on the experience obtained from the successful VOCs control projects for typical large-scale enterprises and industrial parks, and the advantages developed by providing total solutions for researching, engineering and industrialization, the laboratory can develop competitive technology and equipment, and finally improve the total level of the VOCs control technology and promote the development of the industry.
