SCUT and the University of Michigan (Umich) will work together on strengthening international cooperation in scientific research and education, according to a latest agreement sealed earlier in this month.
The agreement, signed on June 10 at SCUT’s Wushan Campus, is based on the principles of mutual benefit and common development to bring advantages of both universities into play, and thus to promote high-level teaching and research coordination that will be established on prospects of the future.
This partnership will be built upon the Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering, a new faculty at SCUT’s Guangzhou International Campus (GZIC), which is committed to teaching and research programs concerning intelligent manufacturing and robotics engineering.
Distinguished delegates attending the signing ceremony included Zhang Xichun, Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, Gao Song, President of SCUT, Tao Shaojing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, Qiu Xueqing, Vice President of SCUT, Ellen Arruda, Chair of Department of Mechanical Engineering at Umich, and Ni Jun, a prestigious scholar in mechanical engineering at Umich.
