Title: Colloidal Semiconductor Microcavity Lasers
Speaker: Prof. Sun Handong
Time: April 21, 10:00
Venue: Room 211, 2nd floor, Physics Building (Building 18)
[Abstract]
Colloidal semiconductor nanostructures have attracted a great deal of attention because of their intrinsic advantages over traditional epitaxy- based semiconductor heterostructures in luminescent device applications. Particularly, colloidal semiconductor quantum dot LEDs have already appeared on commercial market. As a class of Nobel prize winning materials, colloidal semiconductor nanostructures, have been regarded to be advantageous for semiconductor lasers for several decades. In this talk, the speaker will first share the motivation and the current advances of microlasers made from colloidal semiconductor nanostructures. He will then update the latest achievements made from his group, including in the related field, WGM lasers, integrated microlasers and topological lasers. The talk will conclude with summary and sharing future research prospective.
