The “Yuntai Go” (芸台购) Book Purchase & Borrowing Service Platform was officially launched on June 16, 2025. All faculty and students are welcome to log in and use the service. The platform provides an extensive selection of newly published Chinese books and supports 24/7 online ordering. It is an innovative, reader-driven service that follows a simple model: you choose the books online, the library pays for them, and they are delivered to you free of charge. After reading, you just return the books to any campus library. The process is as easy as online shopping:
Browse & Select: Choose your books on the platform.
Library Approval: Your selection is reviewed by the library.
Free Delivery: Approved books are shipped directly to you via courier.
Instant Loan: Books are registered to your account upon approval.
Return: Return the books to the library within the loan period.
The service is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocated budget is exhausted. We encourage everyone to participate.
The service is available to readers holding a valid South China University of Technology (SCUT) Library Card (Student ID Card), including: faculty and staff, doctoral and master's students, and full-time undergraduate students.
Each reader may acquire and borrow a maximum of three (3) books at any one time. A multi-volume set (e.g., Volumes 1-3) is treated as one item. Readers may acquire and borrow again after returning the previously acquired items.
The unit price of each book must be less than 300 RMB.
A maximum of three (3) copies of any single title may be acquired through the service. The loan period is 60 days and cannot be renewed. The loan period starts from the date the reader confirms receipt of the book.Upon receiving the book(s), readers must promptly confirm delivery. If the reader fails to confirm the receipt within the system, the system will automatically confirm receipt after eight (8) days. Note: The delivery address must be within Guangdong Province.
Books that do not comply with the Library's Collection Development Policyare excluded from this service. Examples include (but are not limited to) books for infants and young children etc.
Books can be returned at the libraries on the Wushan Campus, University Town Campus, and Guangzhou International Campus. Please proceed to the Circulation Desk for manual return. Readers must provide their student/faculty ID number when returning books. The self-service return system does not currently support the return of 'Yuntai Go' items.
Couriers such as China Post or ZTO Express will be assigned at random for delivery. The actual courier used for dispatch shall prevail. Upon receiving the book(s), readers must promptly confirm receipt on the 'Yuntai Go' platform. If the reader fails to confirm the receipt within the system, the system will automatically confirm receipt after eight (8) days.
Graduating students must return all books acquired and borrowed through the 'Yuntai Go' platform. Failure to return the books will affect the student's graduation clearance process.
Please handle all books with care. If a book is returned with issues such as missing pages, damage, or loss, the issue will be handled according to the Library's standard book lending and returning rules. After receiving the book, please immediately check for any pre-existing defects, such as damage, soiling, or binding quality issues. If any defects are found, please contact the 'Yuntai Go' Customer Service promptly to arrange for an exchange or return.
