On May 14, Clarivate released the latest statistical data from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database. 

Environmental Science & Ecology at South China University of Technology (SCUT) entered the global top 0.1%, and Psychiatry & Psychology entered the global top 1% for the first time.

ESI is an analytical and evaluative tool for measuring scientific research performance and tracking scientific development. 

Disciplines in the top 1% are considered high-performing, those in the top 0.1% are outstanding, and those in the top 0.01% are pioneering. 

Currently, SCUT currently has a total of 19 disciplines ranked among the global top 1% of ESI, including 6 in the top 1‰, and 3 in the top 0.01%.
