Recently, Professor Anna Korre, Associate Provost (Sustainability) of Imperial College London and Chief Advisor for Sustainable Development at South China University of Technology (SCUT), led a UK delegation to visit SCUT. SCUT President Yang Zhongmin met with the delegation at the Wushan Campus to discuss deepening student exchange, talent cultivation, and university-industry collaboration.

President Yang warmly welcomed Professor Korre, commending the significant progress made since 2024 in bidirectional summer schools. He highlighted that SCUT remains the only Chinese university conducting a large-scale, structured bidirectional summer school program with Imperial. Looking forward, he called for expanding multi-dimensional cooperation through joint projects, industry partnerships, and talent development.

Professor Korre praised SCUT’s strong national and global scale industry connections as a distinct advantage. She emphasised that the current faculty and student exchanges serve as a springboard to building a long-term partnership in engineering for sustainability, which resonates with our vision and goals.

On the morning of July 13th, Professor Korre also attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 SCUT Global Summer School of Emerging Engineering. Representatives from SCUT's International Office and the School of Electric Power Engineering were present at the meeting.
